JOYCE CUNNINGHAM SCHOLARSHIP AWARD GUIDELINES

Administration
    1. The selection committee shall consist of the Chapter President, President-elect, and the Scholarship Committee.
    2. The Scholarship Committee and the Chapter Treasurer shall oversee the scholarship fund.
    3. The Chapter is authorized to accept contributions from individuals and/or corporations for the administration of the Scholarship.
    4. The annual dollar amount awarded under the Scholarship fund will be determined at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee as directed by the executive Committee.
Eligibility
  1. Students can be enrolled in any course of study at an accredited university.
  2. Student can be full-time or part-time Undergraduate or Graduate student.
  3. Eligible for the scholarship will be any NJ Chapter ASSE Member and their
  1. sons / daughters
  2. nieces / nephews
  3. grandchildren
  1. Student must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
  2. Student must be a resident of New Jersey. College enrollment at an out-of-state school is acceptable.
Application Requirements
  1. A completed application form and a copy of the student's transcripts will be accepted on a rolling basis. Deadline dates are August 15th, November 15th, February 15th, and May 15th.
  2. Submit to the Chapter a letter of reference from a High School teacher, a supervisor at a current job or a University's professor.
Judging Criteria

The following criteria will be considered in evaluating all applicants:

  1. GPA as stated on submitted transcript.
  2. Demonstrated leadership skills showed through extracurricular activities.
  3. Degree of involvement in professional organizations
  4. Written communications skills as demonstrated through the application.
  5. Awards and honors earned at educational institutions.
