JOYCE CUNNINGHAM SCHOLARSHIP AWARD GUIDELINES
Administration
- The selection committee shall consist of the Chapter President,
President-elect, and the Scholarship Committee.
- The Scholarship Committee and the Chapter Treasurer shall
oversee the scholarship fund.
- The Chapter is authorized to accept contributions from individuals
and/or corporations for the administration of the Scholarship.
- The annual dollar amount awarded under the Scholarship fund
will be determined at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee
as directed by the executive Committee.
Eligibility
- Students can be enrolled in any course of study at an accredited
university.
- Student can be full-time or part-time Undergraduate or Graduate
student.
- Eligible for the scholarship will be any NJ Chapter ASSE Member
and their
- sons / daughters
- nieces / nephews
- grandchildren
- Student must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
- Student must be a resident of New Jersey. College enrollment
at an out-of-state school is acceptable.
Application Requirements
- A completed application form and a copy of the student's transcripts
will be accepted on a rolling basis. Deadline dates are August
15th, November 15th, February 15th,
and May 15th.
- Submit to the Chapter a letter of reference from a High School
teacher, a supervisor at a current job or a University's professor.
Judging Criteria
The following criteria will be considered in evaluating
all applicants:
- GPA as stated on submitted transcript.
- Demonstrated leadership skills showed through extracurricular
activities.
- Degree of involvement in professional organizations
- Written communications skills as demonstrated through the application.
- Awards and honors earned at educational institutions.
